Barton County Library was awarded a Technology Mini Grant in the amount of $9,543 from the Missouri State Library. The library has used this grant to purchase our first WiFi printer which is available for patron use at our Lamar Branch. It works with most of the major operating systems, including Windows, Android, iOS, and Mac OS. You can ask our front desk staff for instructions on how to set it up on your device! We also used this grant to purchase a projector and screens for our Liberal and Golden City Branches, giving us the capability of incorporating into our programs multimedia presentations to enrich the minds of both children and teens in our communities. The grant also replaced 10 of the older patron and staff computers at our Lamar and Golden City Branches. These new computers have Windows 10 and Office 2016. Their speed and reliability will improve our patron’s experience with computer usage and circulation checkouts. This project is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act as administered by the Missouri State Library, a division of the Office of the Secretary of State.
